Operating System Service Packs, Patches, and Hot Fixes

1. CoCreate releases software tested on the latest patch level available at time of the release.
2. In general, CoCreate system requirement specifications define a minimum service pack or patch level and expect its software products to not be affected by more recent operating system patches issued by Microsoft. Correct functioning on new patches issued by Microsoft cannot be guaranteed though. CoCreate's response to potential incompatibilities of this nature is to attempt the removal of those incompatibilities as timely as possible in one of the next patch, service pack or major revisions of our products.

Schema and Version Support

The schema support diagram looks like this:

Current client versions are supported with the current server version and with all server and schema versions as old as the previous major version. Previous client versions are not supported with the current server version.

Design Data Management

Design Data Management 15.50C supports the same configurations as Manager Server 15.50C except that integrations to OneSpace Modeling and OneSpace Drafting are only available for the OSM supported Windows client platforms.

Microsoft does not recommend that customers deploy business critical servers (like data management) on their desktop operating systems (for example Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional, Windows 2000 Professional, etc.). Customers should deploy business critical servers on the Microsoft server operating systems (e.g. Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition, and Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 Edition).

Language and database compatibility

The only client that can connect to a Japanese language database is a Japanese language client. Japanese clients can connect to UTF-8 databases because a UTF-8 database can represent Japanese characters.
1 = Japanese Model Manager running on a non-Japanese operating system is not supported with a non-Unicode database.

License Requirements

¹ The Model Manager product includes 2 Model Manager licenses. Both licenses are pulled when you start Model Manager: One is specifically for Model Manager, and one is reserved for running Drawing Manager concurrently on the same computer. When run concurrently, Drawing Manager will not pull an additional license.

Model Manager (within Modeling or 3D Access) and Model Manager Standalone may run on the same computer at the same time. Model Manager (within Modeling or 3D Access) and Drawing Manager may run on the same computer at the same time.

Two copies of Model Manager (either within Modeling or within 3D Access) are NOT SUPPORTED running on the same computer at the same time. Two copies of Model Manager Standalone are NOT SUPPORTED running on the same computer at the same time.

Two copies of Drawing Manager are NOT SUPPORTED running on the same computer at the same time. Two copies of Drawing Manager Standalone are NOT SUPPORTED running on the same computer at the same time.

The number of Web Services licenses available is derived from the number of Model Manager, Drawing Manager, and Project Data Manager licenses configured in the CoCreate OneSpace License Server.

License Bundles

OneSpace Model Manager licenses also enable Drawing Manager when Drawing Manager is run on the same computer as Model Manager. This license bundle is enabled by setting an environment variable before the user starts Drafting, or by setting the same variable in the me10.ini file. That variable is:

MEBUNDLEKEY=1

Drawing Manager will not use a license bundle when Drafting is started with -bundlekey as a command line argument. It will only use a license bundle if MEBUNDLEKEY=1 is set in the environment or in the me10.ini file.

CoCreate OneSpace License Server Information

Version Requirements:

With revision 11.60 of the license server and revision 11.60 of the applications, if the major version of the application is greater than the major version of the license server a warning is shown within the application and at the license server but licenses will be granted and used if they are available.

Beginning with the 2004 (12.00) versions of CoCreate products, a version compatibility check is performed between the application and the license server. You will receive an error message if the license server version number is less than the application version number, and the license(s) will not be granted. Therefore the software application cannot be used.

In summary the following condition must be fulfilled for every application revision 2004 (12) or greater:

Major Version(License Server)  [EQUAL or GREATER]  Major Version(Application)

When Manager Server is upgraded to 2007, you must upgrade to the CoCreate OneSpace License Server 15.00 or later.

Blocked Licenses:

Example:

• Licenses LAx on host HA are moved (by the license exchange process) to host HB and are then called License LBx.
• Now licenses LAx are no longer valid licenses.
• The license administrator is responsible to permanently remove all licenses LAx from the active license configuration and has to make sure that from now on all these licenses can never be used again.
• The licenses LAx are marked as "blocked" in the CoCreate License Database.
• A license exchange request on any set of these licenses LAx is not permitted.

If such invalid licenses are found in an active license configuration the License Server will select and disable them.
Attention: The license administrator has to remove such licenses from the active license configuration to have a valid license configuration.

Only the License Server revision 12 will keep blocked licenses active during a grace period of three months.
This grace period will give the license administrator enough time to consolidate his license configuration to setup a valid license configuration.
After this grace period all blocked licenses are disabled by the License Server and cannot be used anymore.
All further License Server revisions after revision 12 will not have any grace period any more. Blocked licenses then will be disabled immediately.

Oracle's Support Status for VMWare - 17 June 2007

Support Status for VMware Virtualized Environments

Oracle has not certified any of its products on VMware virtualized environments. Oracle Support will provide support for Oracle products when running on VMware in the following manner: Oracle will only provide support for issues that either are known to occur on the native OS, or can be demonstrated not to be as a result of running on VMware.

If a problem is a known Oracle issue, Oracle support will recommend the appropriate solution on the native OS. If that solution does not work in the VMware virtualized environment, the customer will be referred to VMware for support. When the customer can demonstrate that the Oracle solution does not work when running on the native OS, Oracle will resume support, including logging a bug with Oracle Development for investigation if required.

If the problem is determined not to be a known Oracle issue, we will refer the customer to VMware for support. When the customer can demonstrate that the issue occurs when running on the native OS, Oracle will resume support, including logging a bug with Oracle Development for investigation if required.

Oracle has not certified any of its products on VMWare, but use of Oracle products in the RAC environment is specifically not supported. This is noted because some Oracle product demonstrations have been conducted in a RAC environment using VMware. These are demonstrations only and not certified for use by customers.
