Install and Configure Microsoft SQL Server 2005

This document will assist you with installing, administering, and configuring Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for CoCreate Manager Server.

CoCreate Manager Server supports the installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express, Workgroup, Standard, and Enterprise Editions. See the Microsoft documentation for a feature comparison.

Begin SQL Server 2005 Express installation

If you are installing the Workgroup, Standard, or Enterprise Editions, please skip to the next section in this document.

By default, SQL Server 2005 Express installs a Named instance (SQLExpress).

  1. Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 from the Microsoft web site. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition requires .NET Framework 2.0.
  2. Download Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition from the Microsoft web site.
  3. Launch the SQL Server 2005 Express installer.
  4. Continue as shown in the following screens.

Errors are indicated by a red "X" icon in the left-hand column, a Status of "Error", and potentially a Message. You must exit the installation (click Exit) and resolve any errors before continuing with the installation.

After resolving any errors, restart the SQL Server 2005 Express installation. (You must manually launch the installation.)

Warnings
